Changing Computer Sleep Mode to Never

If you do not set your computer to "never" sleep mode, when the computer goes into sleep mode during an ongoing test, the communication between the computer and your testing station will be lost. This will interrupt your test and you will need to restart the computer to re-establish the connection.

In order to prevent this situation, please make sure to change the power options of your computer such that the computer never sleeps.

  1. Open the Control Panel and then open the System Properties window (System window on Windows 7).  (The procedure for doing this depends on the versions of the Start menu and control panel display you are using.)

     2. You can find the power options/settings under Control Panel of your computer. Please make sure all plans are changed.

     3. Please select the power plan and change the settings for Sleep to "Never". Please make sure all plans are changed in case plan is changed in the future.

4. Please restart your computer after the changes are applied.
